Meet The Dentists
Dr Jason Pireh
Dr Jason Pireh has 6 fantastic girls in his home in the Hills District (along with 3 "boys") - 1 stunning wife, 4 gorgeous daughters, 2 cats (1 girl and 1 boy) and 2 male guinea pigs!
The big wide world of dentistry began for Dr Pireh at age 6 in his uncle's garage in Melbourne where he would make mouthguards and dentures with his uncle - learning to make dentures well before he studied dentistry! Jason's uncle (Eddie Pireh) was a Dental Prosthetist and worked in the industry for 40+ years.
Dr Pireh graduated from the University of Sydney in the early nineties and started his practice by joining with his uncle at the very first Smart Dental clinic located on Smart Street in Fairfield, Sydney, operating since 1988.
Dr Jason Pireh has studied in dental implantology and has been accredited since 1999 with the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry. He has placed over 1000 implants since then and has continued with ongoing studies in the field including working with a prosthodontist in California, USA.
Dr Jason Pireh has also done extensive studies in root canal therapy with world reknowned experts in Santa Barbara USA and uses the latest techniques available in dentistry at the moment utilizing our 3D scanning technology.
With ongoing orthodontic demands Jason has been studying in the orthodontic field since 1996 and has also been to the USA for further studies to expand his knowledge in this field.
Dr Kenneth Soh
Dr Kenneth Soh grew up and attended school in Melbourne where he also studied his Bachelor of Dental Science (BDSc) from Melbourne University in 2003.
Dr Soh practiced dentistry in Melbourne before making the move to Sydney in 2005. He says he was drawn by the "Smart" in Smart Dental and he has a particular interest in the educational elements in treating patients - as his Smart Dental Kellyville patients will remember from the "educational" photos of gum disease and tooth decay.
Dr Soh enjoys coming to work each day at Smart Dental not only to see his patients, but also the fantastic Smart Dental nurses and reception staff who help things run smoothly. He also enjoys the relationships with patients and especially families that has developed over the past six years at Smart Dental.
Dr Soh's interests, other than his passion for teeth, include spending time with his wife and son, enjoying different cuisines of food and he also enjoys having the opportunity to travel and explore the world.
A Smart Dental tip from Dr Soh... Neglected teeth can keep costing money for the rest of your life! Floss, toothpaste and a toothbrush don't seem so expensive after all...
Dr Shirley Khor
Dr Shirley Khor has a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Honours) from the University of Sydney and has completed a course in orthodontics from Progressive Orthodontics. She also regularly attends seminars and courses to keep up to date with current trends in dentistry.
Following working in a dental practice in Canberra, Dr Khor joined the Smart Dental Kellyville clinic at its opening in 2004. Smart Dental is equipped with the latest in technology such as digital xrays, TV's on the ceilings for our patients, a cool kids play room and the best dental materials which makes it fun to work in dentistry.
Dr Khor enjoys working at Smart Dental Kellyville because of the excellent staff who are efficient, friendly and fun. Dr Khor says... "After working here at Smart Dental for 7 years, I have enjoyed watching my younger patients grow up and have shared interesting conversations with many others. I am pleased that Smart Dental has the patients' best interests, comfort and oral health as a top priority and I will endeavour to live up to that expectation".
Outside of Smart Dental Dr Khor enjoys spending time with her husband and their two gorgeous kids. They love travelling and eating Japanese food. They enjoy being involved with their church in Chatswood and are looking forward to teaching their son to ski this year!
Smart Dental tip... Dr Khor always says that flossing is the key to good dental health - do that every night or second night after brushing. Her favourite floss is the waxed type.
Dr Wes Prepchuk
Dr Wes Prepchuk was born and raised in Canada, but decided to give up the snowy mountains and grizzly bears, for a life in Australia with its sandy beaches and kangaroos. He made the trek over to Sydney in 2005, accompanied by his wife and two little boys. Since then they've added two more children to their family, including one very spoilt little girl.
Dr Prepchuk holds bachelor degrees in Biochemistry form the University of Lethbridge, Canada and in Dentistry from the University of Sydney, Australia. In addition he is currently pursuing further education in the areas of complex restorative dentistry, general orthodontics and implant surgery as he believes in the importance of offering a complete range of services to his Smart Dental patients.
Dr Prepchuk enjoys every part of dentistry at both the Kellyville and West Pennant Hills Smart Dental clinics and has yet to discover an aspect of dentistry that he doesn't enjoy. He loves the interaction with people, the intricate detailed work, and the active learning environment that dentistry provides. He enjoys working with others, and is grateful to be a part of the relaxed yet professional atmosphere that Smart Dental clinics create. Dr Prepchuk likes to keep things light and stress free, and is able to turn difficult situations into manageable ones. He's always believed that you should treat others with respect and kindness, and he is very determined to put a smile on people's faces...humor can be a very effective tool.
Dr Prepchuk looks forward each day to providing quality dental care at Smart Dental, where his patients feel comfortable and respected, and won't live in dread of ‘the six month check-up'.
Outside of the world of Smart Dental, the things he enjoys the most is spending time with his family. With four little kids around, they are often out and about discovering Sydney and Australia, and enjoying the warm sunny weather. He enjoys playing soccer and street hockey with his boys, going to the movies and cooking with his wife, listening to his daughter laugh, and trying his patience with fishing.
A Smart Dental tip..... "BSSdon'tR" = Brush, Swish, Spit, don't Rinse.
