Dr Jason Pireh

Principal Dentist

Dr Jason Pireh’s journey into the world of dentistry began at just six years old in his uncle’s lab in Melbourne, where he helped craft mouthguards and dentures—long before officially studying dentistry. His uncle, Eddie Pireh, was a respected Dental Prosthetist with over 40 years in the industry, sparking Jason’s lifelong passion for oral healthcare.

Dr Jason graduated from The University of Sydney in 1995 and began his career by joining his uncle at the very first Smart Dental clinic, established in 1988 on Smart Street in Fairfield, Sydney.

With a strong commitment to continuous learning, Dr Jason has specialized in dental implantology since 1999, earning accreditation with the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry. Over the years, he has successfully placed more than 5,000 implants and expanded his expertise by training with a prosthodontist in Beverly Hills, USA. Staying ahead of the curve Jason delved into world class training in Seoul, South Korea learning bone grafting techniques in the late 90s.

In addition to implantology, Dr Jason has undertaken extensive studies in root canal therapy, training with world-renowned experts in Santa Barbara, USA. He integrates the latest advancements in dental technology, including state-of-the-art 3D scanning, to ensure the highest standard of care for his patients.

Recognizing the growing demand for orthodontic treatment, Dr Jason has pursued ongoing education in the field since 1996, further refining his skills through specialized training in the USA. His dedication to staying at the forefront of dental advancements has led him to study across the continents including in Oceania, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Jason brings his international expertise back to the heart of the Hills District whilst continuously upgrading Smart Dental’s technology to provide cutting-edge care.

Beyond the clinic, Dr Jason’s passion for dentistry extends to humanitarian work. As a lead dental surgeon for the World Hope Mission organization in Cambodia and Vietnam for many year. He has provided critical emergency dental care to underserved communities, performing over 1,000 extractions per week. Jason is currently planning to extend himself and start a dental clinic in Uganda in July of 2025.

Jason loves spending time and travelling with his wife Meredith and four daughters. Jason loves staying active in his spare time and is currently running a men’s group where faith, community and counsel is provided to men of all ages. Jason finds serenity in gardening, but his competitive side is on display when cycling, skiing, and playing tennis.

Dr Jason is committed to providing patients with a positive dental experience, making Smart Dental the Smart Choice for a Beautiful Smile!
