Our Story - Where it all began
Smart Dental has been at the forefront of innovation and excellence in dentistry for over three decades. It all began in 1988 when Dr Jason Pireh’s uncle Eddie, founded the first Smart Dental clinic on Smart Street in Fairfield. Inspired by his uncle’s passion for dentistry, Dr Jason graduated from the University of Sydney in 1996 and joined the practice.
With a vision for growth and exceptional patient-centred care, Smart Dental expanded in 1998, opening a second clinic in West Pennant Hills. As the Hills District of Sydney continued to flourish, an opportunity arose to serve even more patients, leading to the launch of a third clinic in Kellyville in 2004. Shortly after, the original Fairfield location was merged with the Kellyville clinic to streamline services and enhance patient experiences.
From the very beginning, Smart Dental has been a pioneer in dental technology. In 1998, we were among the first clinics in New South Wales to introduce digital X-rays and intraoral cameras, revolutionising how dental care was delivered. Our commitment to innovation has only strengthened over the years, with the adoption of cutting-edge 3D scanning technology, allowing us to capture detailed imaging with 90% less radiation exposure than traditional methods.

The Smart Dental team is made up of a passionate and experienced group of professionals dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients of all ages. Our team includes skilled general dentists, a qualified paediatric dental specialist, knowledgeable oral health therapists and highly skilled dental nurses who work together in harmony to support every aspect of your oral health. At Smart Dental we are continuously striving to be better with continued interest in the dental sphere. Behind the scenes, our friendly administrative staff ensure each visit runs smoothly, from the moment you walk through the door to the completion of your treatment. Together, we create a supportive, welcoming environment where patients feel cared for, understood, and confident in their smile.

Beyond Us – Mission Focus
At Smart Dental, we believe in the importance of giving back—both to our local community and to those in need around the world. We are proud to have built strong, long-standing partnerships with several non-profit organisations, including Compassion Australia and World Hope Network, as part of our commitment to making a meaningful difference.
Dr Jason, is passionate about extending dental care beyond the Hills District to communities with limited or no access to treatment. He has led and participated in multiple dental mission trips to Cambodia and Vietnam with World Hope Network, providing essential care to people in rural and remote areas. This partnership supports regular short-term medical and dental mission trips, where volunteers like Dr Jason provide hands-on care to those who need it most. These trips focus on treating common and urgent health concerns, including malnutrition, vision problems, and serious dental issues.
During these missions, Dr Jason and his team treat up to 1,300 patients in just five days, with the team alone performing over 200 extractions—making a life-changing impact on many. He and his daughter Georgia are now exploring an exciting opportunity in Uganda to once again share Smart Dental’s compassionate care with the global community.
Smart Dental has proudly supported Compassion Australia, an international Christian organisation focused on child development and advocacy. Compassion partners with local churches in over 25 developing countries to meet the physical, emotional, economic, and spiritual needs of children living in extreme poverty. Through the child sponsorship program, Smart Dental sponsors more than 110 children across the globe—an initiative we’ve been committed to since 1996.
